SOUL (Skin Outcomes Uncovered in Lupus) Study
What is SOUL?
The Skin Outcomes Uncovered in Lupus (SOUL) Study is a large project led by the Division of Rheumatology at Emory University to better understand important outcomes in people with some types of skin lupus. Who can participate? Patients with a diagnosis of Discoid Lupus, Lupus Panniculitis and other types of lupus that cause permanent changes in the skin are eligible to participate in the SOUL study. How you can help? We need the participation of as many people with Discoid Lupus, Lupus Panniculitis and other types of lupus that cause permanent changes in the skin. By learning from patients with specific types of skin lupus like you, we can help to bridge the gaps that still remain in our understanding of the impact of skin lupus in the physical, emotional and social aspects of patients’ life. Your participation involves filling out annual surveys over the next 3 years. You will also have opportunity to donate blood to better understand how skin lupus may progress to other areas of your body. |
